BUNCH OF CARROTS TO HEREFORD

Hereford to The Bunch of Carrots is a great short half day trip. Starting at the Hereford rowing club paddle your way out of town past some of the fantastic houses of Hampton Park. As you break out of the city limits enjoy some beautiful Herefordshire country before pulling in at the Bunch of Carrots pub for a well-deserved pint.

Close To Civilisation

This is a fantastic trip for those looking to escape the confines of city life but maybe have limited time to do it. Hereford has great national rail and coach links.

Suitable For All

This stretch of the Wye is suitable for all abilities with its slow-moving safe waters flowing gently towards the Cathedral city of Hereford.

 

A Great Reward

The Bunch of Carrots pub is the perfect place to finish your day on the river. It can be a little easy to miss so keep your eye out as you paddle down the river.

Think Ahead

It’s important to bring suitable clothing for the weather conditions of the day, however, always think ahead…it's better to be prepared for the worst than getting caught out!! Waterproofs and a warm layer are essential

 

Sun Factor

We all love a little canoeing on a sunny day. Canoeing gives you very little protection from the sun and the added glare coming up off the water only adds to the heat. A sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream and even a long-sleeved shirt are priceless and essential bits of kit on a sunny day. Remember to suncream the knees!!

 

Food & Drink

When out on any river trip it is hugely important to bring enough food and water – There are sections of the River Wye can be fairly remote and opportunities to restock on food and water can be few and far between. Ensure to take enough food and drink with you to keep you going for the duration of the day.
